Keith Ryan’s Ride – Tuesday 9th May 2023
With a fantastic riding day I put up my hand to lead the TT, Slim Jim, Colonel, Half way Dave, Smoko, Martin and Les with wife Vicky (probably spelt wrong, apologies) to Thirlmere for morno’s.
Off we set, Old Princes Hwy, Appin, Broughton Pass, Douglas Park, Cawdow, The Oaks, Oakdale and on to Burragorang Lookout where the breeze became very cool but the view was too enticing to not look at the spectacular dam vista.
Done the Hestia thing to get everyone rounded up and pointed in the right direction then back to Oakdale, Lakeland, Scroogles Road and safely into Thirlmere.
After grazing and solving some world problems five headed back towards home leaving Col, Martin and I to venture through Hilltop, the Y Towns, Bargo River Road which has been particularly resurfaced to make it one of the best 60k roads on the planet.
On through Thirlmere again, through Picton and over Razorback, Douglas Park, Broughton Pass, Appin, Old Princes Hwy to The Lime Leaf cafe, Helensburgh for a chat before heading home.
A great mix of briskness, good countryside and better company made for another very enjoyable day’s ride.
