Overcast but dry, with rain predicted later in the day by which time we would be home.
A message from Slim Jim asked our destination, to which I replied, Bundeena. He responded that he would like to do a short ride to test his neck and would catch up with us at coffee time. At 8:00 AM, Perry blew the hooter (that’s AFL talk for you league tragics), and Perry, Maestro, and Whispers departed when nobody else arrived. We turned left into Farnell Ave, headed through the toll gates, and took the short way to Bundeena.
Coffee and breakfast were being consumed when Slim Jim arrived, having survived the neck jarring after lowering the seat pressure on the FJR. Looking at the sky, we decided to continue our journey south. Leaving Bundeena Rd, we rode through the park, passed a crowded Bald Hill, and followed a bus slowly through the coastal towns. We climbed Bulli Pass and joined the freeway just as the black clouds appeared. We decided to make a dash for home before they arrived. Slim Jim took the exit at the start of the freeway and returned via OPH. Thankfully, we all avoided the rain threat.
Waiting at Heathcote, it only took 30 seconds longer for Jim to arrive. Goodbyes were said before the rain came.
Thanks for the company.
