I made the mistake on Wednesady night of enquiring as to who was riding on Thursday. I turned up for the ride and guess who the ride leader was? Yes, yours truly! 11 riders turned up at Heathcote including Rueben, who we hadn’t seen for a while and Kevin, a newish member. Schafe, Steve, Wills, Big Al, Slim Jim, Dakar (Tim), Chris and Half Way Dave made up the numbers. I had done some homework the night before to see what was open, just in case! General consensus was a short ride so off we set for Bundeena.

Normal departure down the OPH, heading for Bulli Pass. And it was raining by then, although light. The rain had stopped by the time we arrived at Bulli Pass, just wet roads. As we scooted up the coast, the roads became dry and they hadn’t received any wet weather. By the time we headed into the RNP, the sun had come out and the ride was quite pleasant. Except for the muppet in the white Discovery, who wouldnt let us past for 10km, despite going 10kph under the speed limit, until we started overtaking him, and then he sped up. A few other cars that we caught up to, pulled over and let us through – much appreciated! Half Way Dave left us at the turn off to Bundeena (actually ¾’s of the ride was completed!). Morning tea was at Charlies Gelato Factory Café. The service was excellent, coffee and food were great and a very pleasant time was had by all. We then headed back through Audley before saying our farewells just before the highway. About 130km, home by 11.30.

Thanks gents! Cheers, Brett (Chopper)
