Blue sky, rain predicted later in the day; plenty of time for a ride.
Starters today were Lassi, Russel, Doc Martin, and Whispers. Our destination for today was Diggies Café at Kiama Lighthouse.
Helmets on and ready to depart when Gary arrived on his spider. I explained our destination and off we set: OPH to Bulli, Mt. Ousley and Highway to Albion Pk Rail exit, right at the Shell, left at Jamberoo Rd. Restricted speed along this stretch of rd, and a large truck slowed us down even more till we reached Jamberoo village where the truck turned off, and we increased our speed to the speed limit.
Nice winding road to Kiama and the Lighthouse, where all of a sudden the wind increased, so we were forced to eat inside. Scrambled eggs, pancakes, b and e rolls; any wonder our waist measurement increases, but at our age, who cares.
Socialising is essential; it’s what makes the ride enjoyable. We chose to leave when the grey clouds started drifting in (Maybe the BOM got it right for a change). Lassi decided to return via the park, but the rest of us returned down the highway just in case the prediction was correct (it wasn’t). Goodbyes at Heathcote, home 12:30.
Cheers, John Warren (Whispers)
