24th September 2024: Jamberoo

I don’t know if it’s just me, or Keith Moyle’s phone has my name embedded in his number generator ….. it’s rigged I reckon…. guess who’s writing this ride report…. me of course, Smoko.

Anyway, back to the ride, as usual for a nice warm Tuesday, we had 12 bikes and riders with one pillion, Leslie, all rearing to go at the servo, and as usual for a Tuesday the rush to lead was overwhelming…. NOT.

Rob “Tunnels” and Keith were talking about somewhere south, so Keith finally agreed on good old Jamberoo, everyone was happy so away we went.  The usual run down through the RNP at Waterfall, requested by TT who was making his long-awaited return, and good to see him there as TEC once again, a good run through the park with no cars is always nice, well organised Gorilla.

Continuing along the OPH to Picton Rd. then Mt. Kembla, M1 to Fowlers Rd. Marshall Mount Rd. and on to Jamberoo Oval, where we all purchased our pies cakes and coffee’s and went back to sit in the slightly overcast sunshine in the park.

After about 45 minutes Keith pulled out that dreaded phone and gave everyone a number, you really don’t have to guess who won 1st prize…. again, do you…. rigged.  After lots of laughter at my expense, everyone was gearing up for the run home, Rick (Harley) and Gerry (BMW) said they would leave us, heading home, on the trip back, so Keith then suggested we simply go back the same way we came, the only diversion was a trip around Avondale, before getting onto the M1 until the Wollongong exit where we detoured to ride up Mt. Kirra, which was rather slow due to a couple of SUV’s up front, we lost them at Harry Bissel Dr.

The group had a good run back, except for a speed camera car on the M1, which Brad “Buttons” radioing the info to all before we got there, from his phone app WAZE, very good timing.

Everyone pulled up at our usual goodbye point to say our farewells, a big thankyou to Keith for running the show and of course our regular TEC, TT.  We then all headed off home, where I got to sit in front of the computer and write this report…I still reckon it’s rigged.
