The weather report for the day included “rain developing in the afternoon”, so I gave a green light for the ride to go ahead. Total attendance was two, the Colonel and I.
We headed south, via the old highway, Mt Kembla, bypassed Dapto and on to Jamberoo. Fog started at Maddens Plains then changed to rain as we dropped down into Wollongong. This continued all the way to Jamberoo, where we stopped for coffee and refreshments.
I called for a vote whether to continue. It was unanimous, time to pull the plug. No rain on the way home, which gave us a chance to dry out. Damn the weather, still we got half a day in.
