I woke up Friday to a wet Sylvania Waters knowing I had no choice than to put on my big boy pants and lead a group of 15 to Mudgee.
Met up with most at Menai and by 9am we were off thankfully with mother nature finally turning on a lovely day. 1st stop was mornos at Glenbrook where a few more joined us in cars.
Nice ride through the mountains stopping for a quick lunch in Lithgow. On to Mudgee via some beautiful scenery and wide sweeping bends for our 1st stop being wine tasting at the amazing Bunamagoo Estate looked after by wonderful Emma.
Back to the hotels followed by the best $31 Chinese banquet ever had at Kai Sun. The group got on amazingly with plenty of diverse chatter till late into the night it was also a pleasure to meet some wives and a possible new member on this weekend.
Saturday was a casual breakfast followed by a return visit to Pieter Van Gent wines for the tasting show via the colourful Seth Efrican manager Clive. Then on to lunch at the beautiful Moothi Estate.
A great dinner as always was then had at Kelly’s Irish Bar. Tried my best to keep up with the ladies this time and stay till the end watching a great band.
Sunday we went home via a very scenic detour to Portland for brunch followed by a pit stop in the mountains before we broke up for the trip home. Weather, riding, food, wine and company were all awesome making it another memorable Cruisers ride.
Look out for the next one, I am planning a 7 – 10 day ride around Sept/Oct to Broken Hill via Dubbo and White cliffs home via Mildura
