The day began with an overcast sky as ten motorbike enthusiasts gathered at Ampol Heathcote. The group rode to a deserted Heathcote Oval car park, where instructors Steve and Brett were ready to impart their knowledge.
The session focused on essential riding skills such as proper posture, slow riding techniques, effective braking, wombat avoidance manoeuvres, and cone weaving. With the enthusiasm of novices and the practice of many years riding we were all eager to refine our skills.
After a productive morning session, and the presentation of several awards by our instructors we took a well-deserved break at a charming café in East Heathcote. Over coffee and refreshments, we shared stories and experiences, fostering camaraderie and a sense of community. The atmosphere was lively, with laughter and animated discussions punctuating the air.
The adventure ride and skills refresher course proved to be an excellent opportunity for members to hone their abilities and reconnect with fellow enthusiasts.
The combination of practical instruction and social interaction made for a memorable experience that participants are likely to cherish.
Big thanks to Steve and Brett for giving their time.
