Today was Gorilla’s Hawksbury 5 ferries ride, yes, we got to ride our motorcycles and had 5 ferry rides. Apart from our ride leader Gorilla, we had Seagull, Snapper Snee, Mick & Merran Toth, todays TEC, Barny and myself.
8 am came & off we went out via Heathcote Rd, Bringelly, Greendale Rd, through Penrith and onto Cranbrook Macca’s for coffee. Our first boat ride was the Sackville Ferry, the second one was Webb’s Creek Ferry, where once we were on the other side, we rode up St Alburns Rd about 5 k, turned around and went back over the river on the same ferry, another few k up the Rd, we took the Wisemans Ferry over the river, travelling many ks along the river, before heading up through central Mangrove, and down the Pacific Hwy to the pie in the sky for lunch.
After lunch, we continued south to Berowra, then headed west down to our next ferry, the Berowra waters Ferry, once across, we travelled up via Arcadia, eventually returning to the Sackville ferry again for a run home, the opposite way we travelled out. We all said our goodbyes where we re fuelled, next to the Cranbrook Macca’s. Over 350 km covered today, we left at 8, got home at 5.30 pm, lots of waiting for Ferries.
A big thanks to Gorilla for a great ride today, everyone really enjoyed it, and thanks also to Barny for Tec duties, looking back, we actually had 6 ferry rides, a great day, a hot morning, but the afternoon was quite pleasant.
