For whatever reason, the rain last night, grandparent duties during the school holidays or the Bathurst 1000, there was only The Colonel and myself at Heathcote for the advertised ride to Settlers Inn at Mulgoa.
We agreed to do the planned ride anyway, and this took us to Appin, Douglas Park, Cawdor and Werombi Road where we joined Silverdale Road to Wallacia and Mulgoa. Typical light Saturday traffic so it was a good run except when I took a wrong turn trying to take the short route via Warragamba.
Settlers Inn is usually busy at 11am on a Saturday but not today. The Bunker has opened across the road with expanded premises and plenty of customers. Word is that it is nice but a bit expensive! Nonetheless we opted to have our coffee and food at Settlers Inn where the service was quick at least.
The return trip took us via Greendale Road through to Bringelly Road for an easy run home.
Still a good day out in excellent cooler riding weather.
