Well, the time has come to rejuvenate the Volunteer Leaders for the upcoming Saturday & “Rides Away”. Plan was to go to Woronora Dam, but on checking the Web Site and doing a surveillance Ride on Friday, I find the luminated sign at the entrance to the dam “No Power, or Hot Water”.
New plan was to head down Appin Road, and 10 kms later, the turnoff to Cataract Dam. There was a bit of drizzle – O’oh – this road is known for all the coal trucks, and the debris they leave on the Road. Not having much choice, I headed there in my car, and started preparing for the B.B.Q. Breakfast. The lads started rolling in, with everyone helping and started the cooking. Down to business – let’s get the show on the Road.
Roger “Pirate” Rieger took over the bookings on his computer directly onto the Web Site, well that was before his computer started to have a conflict with itself, so back to my handwritten version? all good and the many regulars filled all the designated Saturdays up to 25th November. Well done, Lads, and to the hero volunteers, they shared the spoils of the kitchen (with the food & Goodies left over).
Rain now is pretty constant – “Can’t imagine what the Road will be like?” I proceeded in my nice Shiney Red “Stinger” – Yep just as I thought – I was passing a line of very dark & Black Cars, covered in Black Coal Soot – Shiet, could be worse, I could have been on the Bike? Like all the other poor Bastards, anyway, off to the car wash – where a girl said, “what happened to your Car?” Feel sorry for the other guys on their Bikes (Not), and especially our El Presidente – Bill “Sniper” who said he spent 2 hours cleaning his black Bike to make it look like a black “Harley” again. All good S**t happens.
By the way, we also have all our Thursday Rosters filled till 19th October – thanks again to these Lads, for making our Rides so enjoyable – you should buy them a beer or lunch one day.
Tuesday Riders are as usual “Meet & Greets”. and well followed and supported. Our Rides away are “Pirate’s” 5 Dayer Ride on 18-22nd September to Griffith & Beyond” and “Gorilla’s” 3 Day Ride to Cowra & Beyond’ on 18-22 September.
Well done Lads – hope to be Riding with you all soon.
That’s about it for now, and Cheers to all the guy’s that put their hands up.
