Lovely day for a ride. Sun shining and 14 bikes, along with 2 pillions ready to go spot on 9 from Heathcote. Ably lead by Gorilla, we all headed South thru the National Park, Lawrence Hargrave Drive, onto the Princes Hwy and then Bulli -Appin Rd.
A left turn at Appin and then a run down across the Cataract River at Broughton’s Pass Weir and on to Douglas Park and across the Nepean River at Douglas Pass Dr Weir, on towards Mount Hunter and ending up at The Oaks. Everyone wondering if this was the place to be as in the briefing Gorilla did mention ending somewhere else…
Great morning break had by all at Glen’s Bakery Café. Back on the bikes to heading home via Oakdale, Mowbray Park, Picton and Menangle.
Onto Menangle Road to track back via the bendy bits and across the Weirs again. North again thru Helensburgh on the Princes Hwy to quickly blow off the dust for a finish at Heathcote. Great morning’s ride but everyone was happy to head home as the temp was approaching 35C when we said our goodbyes.
Cheers, Tim
