With some away on Roger’s Ride, plus various other factors (younger members don’t want to cook for themselves—that was one suggestion), there were six riders for today’s BYO BBQ Ride. It was beautiful weather for our run out to Oakdale and back through Thirlmere and Tahmoor to the dam. Dave left us near Thirlmere for domestic obligations. We had a trouble-free run, although the semi on Bargo River Road was a surprise.

Despite having checked yesterday, we were caught out with Avon Dam closed for the day. Plan B saw us using the excellent facilities at Nepean Dam. It’s a pity, as the winding road down to Avon is a bit of fun—another time, maybe? Phil came past on his step-through Honda to say hello; he doesn’t live far from the dam.
Thanks to the guys that turned up and to Gorilla for looking after the tail. I hope you all enjoyed the day!
