Saturday 31st of August. Everyone was blown away by the early morning wind, with only 3 riders making a show, with a 100 kmph wind gust warning being issued for the Blue Mountains and Lithgow, I decided before I got there, that changes to the day had to be planned. On arrival, only Dakar was there, and after we discussed the expected conditions, we decided on coffee at The Oaks.
Dakar led us off, headed up Heathcote Rd, we got onto the M5 at Moorebank, took Bringelly Rd and Greendale Rd out to Wallacia, we were somewhere on Greendale Rd when I got a call from Monkey, I think I’m late, Yes I said, only 50 minutes, I told him to meet us at The Oaks, we then turned onto Silverdale Rd and continued on to The Oaks, where Monkey finally showed up after we had finished our coffee & nibbles. As soon as he sat down, we stood up to leave as a joke, but he didn’t want anything to eat or drink anyway.
He said he and the Mrs were not having a good morning, so before anyone could produce a box cutter, Monkey decided he would go for a ride. One can see how good riding is for everyone’s health, marriage and well-being.
For the run home, Dakar led us home via Cordor, Menangle and Appin Rd. Thanks to Dakar and Monkey for making the ride, I couldn’t tell you if Monkey went straight home or found somewhere else to go.
