Finally, a cooler day, 10 riders turned up to enjoy this stunning day, everybody just stood about talking with nobody wanting to step up to lead the ride, I took a pic at 9 am of the starters, and at 9.05, the buck passing stopped with me, as I dared to make a suggestion, I said Berry, the long way, so long it was.
Due to the previous days severe wind, we decided to steer clear of the Royal and Mt Kembla and Kierra. We went down the OPH, and continued all the way down to Fowlers Rd and then took the Avondale route to Marshal Mt Rd, went through Caulderwood heading for Jamberoo via a quick trip up Mac Pass and down Jamberoo Pass, before a run up and over Saddleback and down into Kiama. Continuing south, we took the Broughton Village, Foxhound Ground detour before arrival at the Dairy Bar at Berry.
After some sustenance it was time to head home. Kevin Colby left us early on the way down, 1st ride for quite a spell, sore back, after lunch, Bullfrog, Les, Bruce, Finileak and guest rider Rob all made a B line for home. That left Nippy, Shane, Neil and myself to head out to Shoalhaven, back to Gerringong for a couple to get fuel, we then travelled via the gong and up the coast Rd and via the Berg home. A very nice 300 plus klm ride.
