3rd March 2025: Coffee Ride

The sun was shining—perfect riding weather for Perry, Maestro, Lassi, Glen, and Whispers. While waiting for launch time, Perry mentioned a historic building in Heathcote called Heathcote Hall. It was decided to visit this site on our journey.

We left Heathcote Maccas and, around near the old Breakfast Torque oval, there it stood in its grandeur. Built in 1887 by Abel Harber, a Sydney brick-maker, it was won in a Tattersalls Lottery in 1896. Beautifully restored, it is a historically listed private residence.

In 1996, it was used as a filming location for The Munster’s Scary Little Christmas. Sadly, it is unavailable for inspection.

Back to the journey, we decided on our much-visited Cordeaux Heights Café. We rode via Picton Rd and Mount Kembla on the way down. We only needed to pull up out the front, and the staff were already arranging tables to fit us.

Breakfast ordered, we sat back to discuss our approaching doom. It didn’t take long to solve the problems—well, sort of; we left part two to discuss on the next ride.

Our ride back took us through Mt Keira, OPH, and Bald Hill, where Perry and Glen left us for home duties. From there, we continued via RNP to Loftus, and we exchanged goodbyes at the toll gates. Home in time for lunch and a nanny nap.

Thanks for the company.

Cheers, Whispers
