A meet and greet due to Keith Shrek Ryans ArrrRgh-preciation ride, with only two riders present, so I took the lead while Norm was tail end Charlie.
We went down the old highway and down to Picton Rd, across to the Mt Kembla turnoff and then to Unanderra, onto the highway and down to the Kiama bends. Took the Toolijooa rd, tarred now unfortunately, and made our way to the cow shed Cafe which was a pleasant morning tea break. Overall, no real incidents except for some poor driving but with little traffic not a problem.
Leaving Berry, it was back up the coast to Kiama and then over Saddleback Mt and along the cow shit road to Jamberoo. Interestingly at mornos, Norm told a story about a tradie ute driving dangerously and guess what we encounter over Saddleback – a tradie ute pushing his luck going the other way.
Anyway, we made the Jamberoo Pass Road and were impressed with all the new tar and just how much we liked the climb up Jamberoo. It was too early for lunch at Robertson, so we pressed on along the tourist road. The range road is still closed so on to Bowral and Mittagong, back onto the South Road (the north section is open) and onto Hill Top for lunch (largely because I have had mornos at Hill Top many times but never lunch).
After pleasant conversation we left for the usual way home, Picton, Douglas Park, Broughton Pass, Appin Rd and home. A very pleasant ride with little traffic (Jamberoo Pass was a clear run), cool but sunny and good company.
