It was a lovely 14° on a sunny Monday morning. The wind from the previous night had died down so it was looking like a great riding day. It was discussed with Whispers from a previous ride that I should lead this ride to Picton a different way.
13 soles showed up which was quite surprising. After a short discussion about the way we were going we headed off from Loftus oval and proceeded to Heathcote Road. Because there were so many riders, I decided that I would stop at each change of direction so we wouldn’t lose anyone. At the M5 we continued to Camden valley road towards Northern Road. After turning into Northern Road, we kept on riding until we reached Park Road Luddenham. From there we continued on until reaching Mulgoa Road. On the other side of the roundabout was the beginning of Silverdale Road which despite the many potholes is a quite enjoyable ride with some fast-sweeping corners. Eventually we arrived and continued through the Oaks town centre. We continued onto Montpelier Drive until we reached Barkers Lodge Road. I decided to wait for the stragglers to catch up. Gary came up beside me and said that he needed fuel. I could hear his machine beeping so I wasn’t sure how far he had to go. Fortunately, we didn’t have far until reaching the township of Picton. I signaled to Gary where the service station was and advised him of where we would be having our morning tea.
After having our breakfast and coffees with various discussions we saddled up and proceeded down Picton Road to Menangle Road to Douglas Park and onto Broughton Park and across the weir and onto Appin Road. After riding back on the OPH we stopped and said our goodbyes. Thanks for an all who came and made this an enjoyable ride.
