As this week’s weather has been pretty crappy, I decided to put a post out Wednesday night suggesting that tomorrows ride would be updated by about 7am, letting people know if it’s on or not. It turned out to be reasonable weather, so I posted the green light and rode to the servo, not knowing if anyone else would turn up.

I must have missed a big downpour around the entrance to the RNP, as the road was really wet….so much for my nice clean bike…but as Owen and Leslie arrived they said they copped it going across Woronora Bridge, as did Les on his way to Heathcote Road…which he thought was open, only to find it closed, requiring him to ride back to Menai and across the Bridge into Sutherland, making him very late, along with Col who both turned up after I gave the ride instructions and were about to ride off….they got special single photos for being so late…ha-ha.
Anyway, there were now seven bikes and Leslie as pillion, Owen, Brian, Les, Schafie, Dave, Col and me Smoko, the planed ride was to Hill Top Bakery via the Y towns, the run down the OPH was reasonable with very light showers on and off, and a new set of traffic lights at the end of Appin Road, heading to Broughton Pass and through Wilton to Remembrance Drive. I think we were lucky because some parts of the road were really wet…. That was the weather for the day sun then rain showers, we were pretty lucky though.

Upon arrival at the bakery, we sat outside on the deck and one of the waitresses took a nice group photo for me, Dave said his sausage roll was the best one he’d ever had, and it was his first time visiting the little village…always good to find a new place eh.

After lots of discussion about not much at all, it was suggested by Col and Schafie to return home via The Old South Road onto Tourist Road and down Mac. Pass, which I did, it was a good run to start but then caught up with a caravan, who only pulled over at the very bottom of the Pass. It was wet too so we really did have to take it a bit easy. This Thursday was double demerits for the ANZAC long weekend also, but the only cops we saw was along the road from the Pass to Calderwood, a speed camera…no other police or HWY Patrols…nothing, so we had a good run back to Heathcote for our farewells and another photo, Dave kept going…I’m getting better as a photographer…I think, and remembering to get some. Thanks all for coming along on a not too wet ride, and to Col for the TEC duties, very professionally done.
