Seven hardy souls met on a rather cool, but exceptional day, for today’s M&G ride – but, where to? A friend of mine had mentioned a bakery (well, Patisserie) in Mittagong and I thought today would be an appropriate time to check it out. No-one disagreed for more than obvious reasons, so off we set.
Followed the normal route which entailed the OPH, Appin Road, Broughton Pass, the Hume H’way to the Bargo turnoff, then through the ‘Y’ towns ending up at Mittagong. Here I missed a turn-off which resulted in an unguided tour of the Mittagong light industrial area……but no worries we did find our destination in the end. The Patisserie had all sorts of goodies which were of a very high quality – with prices to match…….just for the record!
The ride back from Mittagong was via some of Mittagong’s residential areas (in contrast to the earlier bit) up Range Road, the Tourist Road, Mac. Pass and onwards east and north.
Regarding the ride, it was quite amusing in the fact it was a sort of musical chairs kind of event – regrettably, Les dropped out near Garrawarra (family business), Halfway Dave lived up to his name and left after coffee/goodies and Tunnels departed at Albion Park. The balance (well four of us) then leisurely cruised back to our various domiciles.
Needless to say, I had a very enjoyable and fulfilling day and hope all my comrades on the ride were of the same opinion and enjoyed their excursion including that through Mittagong’s back streets,
