Another great turnout, but I can’t use the Dirty Dozen as there were only 11 of us. At 9:01 am, Gorilla started the ride briefing, with, you guessed it, Jamberoo was thrown out there, again. I suggested Diggies at Kiama, which half hadn’t heard of, and before you know it, with a blink of an eye, Bullfrog and Gorilla quickly seconded my suggestion, and somehow I’m now leading the ride.
We headed down McKell Ave and did the southern end of the Royal, and then it was back onto the OPH at the Burg. We next took the Picton Rd exit and came down Mt Kierra, and then it was back onto the southern freeway to the Minamurra turn off and onto Swamp Rd. We then continued on the back roads toward Saddleback, taking the run down into the southern end of Kiama, and made our way north to the Blowhole Headland and Diggies.
After our sustenance was consumed, in very pleasant conditions, we then headed straight for home. We lost our last two riders on the way down, despite the all-together calls on the radio, who met us at the blowhole, and we lost Red on the way home. He got caught behind a learner getting off the Kiama headland, and by the time he got through the shops, we were gone, but he caught up by taking the old tollway.
