13th February 2025: Jamberoo

Despite a little rain predicted today, I was surprised 14 riders turned up. Just goes to show, you can’t pick it. Monkey was today’s designated ride leader, and after a quick pic taken by Bruce, our regular Thursday photographer who just happens to be there waiting for his mates, Monkey led us out down the OPH. We then took Picton Rd, went down Mt Kembla, and made our way back onto the freeway southbound. We exited at Fowlers Rd and then took Marshall Mt Rd, where we immediately hit road works for a couple of k’s. We rode past the Caulderwood turnoff, heading into Albion Park, taking Church St, and then the 60 km/h run to Jamberoo.

Those that went up for coffee were greeted by Avachat, waiting outside the coffee shop with his Goldwing. Eventually, we wandered back down to the park to allegedly proceed to our lunch destination, Shoalhaven Heads. This was when the drizzle started, which turned into rain. And not long after the rain hit, it was better described as pissing down. It was during this 20-minute wait that Monkey made the executive decision to head for home, which we did with the first break in the rain.

Thanks to Monkey for leading today and to whoever took the sweep position. It was good to see everyone brushing up on their wet weather riding skills.
