On a slightly overcast but clearing morning 12 riders and Leslie as the sole pillion lined up at the Ampol, Heathcote, ready to set off at 9am.
When the question of who will lead was asked, 11 took a step back leaving me with the honour. After a short discussion, all agreed that we should go to Berry where we hadn’t been for a time.
A short briefing then off we set, with TT being Tail End Charlie and the Colonel next behind me to signal any problem, delay or need to stop. Old Pacific Highway then Princes Highway / motorway to Picton Road then up and over Mount Kembla then down to Cordeaux Heights where Slim Jim, Seagull and Ha-Fway (The fellow from the Confuse-Us Clan) We knew that Jim and Rob had business to attend to, Ha-Fway’s exit was not unexpected.
Over to Five Islands Way with the weather warming and rain beginning to spit. We returned to the Motorway and with precipitation threatening, continued south through Albion Park Rail and Kiama before turning left to Toolijooa Road, through Toolijooa, to Tannery Road and into Berry where we headed for the Old Dairy Café where everyone enjoyed some morning tea, chat and sufficient banter for those present to forget the lolly shop.
After our repast we rode north, detouring to the Old Princes Highway through Broughton Village before returning to the Highway then rode up to Saddleback, Fountaindale Road, Jamberoo Road and Swamp Road before returning back to the Motorway, Mount Ousley then the Old Princes Highway back to Heathcote.
Another great ride with a great group and Greg Melville being the action photographer for the day.
Cheers,
SHREK.
