On a perfect day, well perfect for the government anyway with double points … so gingerly we left Loftus Oval at 8.00am.
On our way to Coffee bean café at Picton. Today’s participants were Whispers / Harley, Tunnels / Halewood, Dakkar /on his new 1996 Gs 1300 GT, Andy / Harley, Dave / Spider. Route was OPH where the usual mobile revenue collector was parked near Boomerang, Picton Rd, Macarthur Dr, Douglas Pk, Menangle Rd, Picton Coffee bean café. Problem was being a public holiday it was closed.
Damn, there goes my bacon and eggs. Dave saved the day by suggesting the café across the road. Problem number 2 was the entire population of Picton and surrounds was there. We ordered b/e rolls and coffee and waited out the front. The staff bought our meals to us and we were going to take them across to the park when a family vacated a table and we grabbed it.
Plenty of chit chat and we left about 10.30. Dakkar volunteered to do the return route via Razor Back, Right at the roundabout, Finns Rd, Broughton pass, Appin Rd, OPH w here a H/w patrol car was.
Waiting where the speed limit reduces to 80 kph just before the OPH merges with the highway at Waterfall this was where the returning from long weekend traffic was stopped. Thankfully we were able to lane change to Heathcote where the inside lane Was clear I. e [For the “confused” reading this, that’s the lane nearest the kerb]. Easy run home by 12.30 before it started to heat up.
Thanks Dakkar and guys for the day.
