Well, a good turnup at Heathcote with 10 attending, fine weather, and a good hot coffee.
The chosen destination was to head off to the Royal National Park, found to still have some Road closures and road repairs, upon approaching the intersection of Sir Bertrum Drive, and proceeding through to complete the right hand turn, to see in my rear vision mirrors, a white vehicle with roof racks – no Lights “Shiet??”, I then go to the left side of the Road, and wave the vehicle past, to which he does and gives me a thankyou signal on his blinkers? And yes, it was a Chrysler and “No Officer, I did stop at the sign” a bit of luck, or he was in a good mood, or maybe another Biker??”.
From there it was to Stanwell Tops and back to Symbio, and Helensburgh, onto the Old Highway, then Mount Ousley and to Picton Road, and to take the Mount Kembla Turnoff, back on the Highway south, exit at Fowlers Road and onwards to Jamberoo, for the customary relief break and coffee.
Several guys had to leave us there, but we progressed over Saddle Back Mountain and towards Kiama. This has got to be one of the best views in N.S.W., and I never tire of it. Through the Kiama “S’s” and to the Gerringong/Gerroa turnoff and turn off to Shoal Haven and the Hotel.
I previously rang ex-President Peter Simpson, who lives there now, and he met us at the Pub. Good lunch was had, even if a bit expensive on the food side, but Simo tells me the Bowlo is just as good but cheaper, but obviously doesn’t have the views. From here it was back past Bomaderry Bowlo, then to Berry, past the Lolly Shop-Dairy Bar, and on to join the new expressway north, veering left to take the old highway, through Fox Ground & Broughton Village, a great little bypass.
We then proceeded on past Gerringong and to the “Kiama S’s” again for some more fun.
All good and goodbyes at Heathcote with the remaining 5. Safe at home – another good day, all safe & Sound.
